Economy Pest Control has decades of experience treating and eliminating termites. We are proud to use Termidor HE ® for the quickest acting and best termite treatment available.

Termites are a multi-billion-dollar problem in the United States and termite damage is rarely covered by insurance companies because termite damage is considered preventable with routine maintenance. Kentucky is home to the Eastern Subterranean Termite. Since these termites live underground, they often go unnoticed for years while causing significant damage to your property. Subterranean termites are usually only found during a thorough home inspection by a qualified professional or when there is a swarming event. During a termite swarm the winged reproductive termites emerge from their tunnels behind walls or under floors. These swarms can be just a few winged termites up to hundreds of thousands. sometimes you may not see the actual termites but you may see dropped wings near windows and doors. If you see signs of a possible swarm, live termites or wings, we recommend that you collect some of the insects or wings so our trained technicians can positively identify them.  If a swarm is confirmed, then this is an indicator that you have a mature termite colony in your property. Economy Pest Control recommends a complete inspection to locate any damage and a professionally done termite treatment using Termidor ® to effectively eliminate the existing termite colony and to prevent a future infestation for years to come.

Signs of Termite Infestations

  • Termite Swarms: (Picture of winged termites) Usually the first sign of a termite infestation is the presence of flying termites — called swarmers or alates. The flying termites are the males and females that have left the nest to find a mate and then establish a new colony — which could be near or in your home.

  • Shelter Tubes/Mud Tubes: These are tubes that worker termites build from the soil to the wood in order to shelter themselves from the harmful effects of the sun and air. These are most often found in hidden, shady spots on foundations or crawl space cement blocks. Sometimes they are even built up through concrete blocks, making them even more difficult to spot.

  • Structural Damage: Structural damage caused by termites can be hard to locate. It is usually found behind surfaces like walls, floors, and ceilings.

Treatment

Economy Pest Control is proud to use Termidor HE ®. Termidor ® is America’s #1 termite defense and is 100% effective at controlling termites in three months or less. That's why since its introduction in 2000, pest management professionals have made Termidor ® America's leading termite control, with over 4 million structures treated.

How Termidor ® works:

Termidor’s ® exclusive “transfer effect” eliminates termites by both ingestion and contact and is lethal to termites simply through contact with other termites that have ingested the product. Because Termidor ® is undetectable to termites, they travel through treated soil, unknowingly transferring Termidor ® back to the nest and eliminating the colony. Termidor will quickly eliminate existing colonies and since it stays in the soil it can also help prevent future termite infestations for years to come.
